John is a facilitator with ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults. Most recently he completed a fourteen-week Recreational Therapy internship at a residential psychiatric hospital for teenagers. Prior to that John spent five years teaching yoga & mindfulness to adolescent and adult patients at inpatient psychiatric hospitals. John spent two years teaching yoga & mindfulness to incarcerated men in Sacramento County Jail, one year to incarcerated adolescents at Rosemont Juvenile Detention Facility and assisted a yoga teacher training to men incarcerated at Solano State Prison. John also has experience teaching adaptive yoga to persons with physical, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
John is an Americorps alumni having completed the California Conservation Corps Backcountry Trails program in 2011. He supervised Americorps members with the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps as a trail crew leader in 2013. John co-led numerous community planting events and supervised Americorps NCCC crews in his two years working and volunteering for the Sacramento Tree Foundation. John continues his work of 3+ years working as Team Lead at the Peak Adventures Challenge Center and as a whitewater rafting guide.
